Process mapping and muda analysis
We also worked during our company vacation between the years… not at the workbench, but on the desk with a flipchart, markers and a change of perspective! The aim: to take a closer look at the complex processes behind our business. Because the environment is constantly changing and we want to become even more customer-friendly. For this reason, the Signum processes were analyzed in a workshop and potential for improvement was sought. Among other things, the Japanese muda concept was applied. “Muda” means “waste” and the aim is to identify unnecessary waiting times, transportation, too much inventory and possible sources of error. Corresponding improvements will then be developed.
The workshop was great fun and very fruitful, as the first ideas will be implemented in the coming weeks. To paraphrase Voltaire: the better is the enemy of the good… we live by the principle of continuous improvement!
